Alison Mosshart from The Kills – Reviews Cowboy Mouth

September 29, 2011 in Uncategorized by the salon:collective

Alison Mosshart, half of one of London’s most celebrated punk-rock alt bands, The Kills, surprised us with a visit to the opening night of Cowboy Mouth, at the King’s Head Theatre.

This is what she had to say about it:

“The set is simple. It’s got the essentials; instruments, a Bob Dylan photograph, bedsheets. Slim and Cavale are convincingly drowning in total frustration and a youthful madness that makes the place shudder. They bounce off the walls, like you or I would, drinking warm beer in dirty socks, eating 2$ lobster, and obsessively dreaming of exiting total obscurity.  Slim looks a little like Kurt Cobain, and Cavale, a more feminine, less night bleached, Patti. These two circle one another like vultures and there’s only ever any bliss between them when the sound of rock and roll, played by one or the other, is louder than their state of mind. The American Dream is a lobster screaming in a boiling pot. I loved the play. They did a great job.”- Alison Mosshart

Alison hung out with the cast and crew after the show sporting her new pink hair. It was a truly rock’n’roll start to the beginning of the salon:collective’s debut production.
