Announcing auditions for the salon:collective’s open air production of TWELFTH NIGHT (skilfully edited), taking place in Cornwall in July 2012!
High energy production, with live music & dance, also involving local children & local people, & promenading between sites within one village! Directed by Dominic Kelly, the cast will work together, rehearsing in London, and then integrating the local community of delightful hamlet, St Enoder into our world of gypsies, pirates, and festival goers.
Production dates: rehearsals in London (at flexible times) during May, June & July
Travel to Cornwall July 23rd, rehearsing on site, performing 27th & 28th, returning Monday 30th July.
We guarantee to cover all costs for Cornwall (transport, food & accommodation); in addition, we are applying for funding, & if we are successful we hope to pay (Equity minimum)
Roles to be cast:
- Viola – determined, passionate & adventurous young girl (early 20s), able to play a young man believably
- Olivia – beautiful & elegant lady (mid-late 20s), who is besotted with Viola
- Sir Andrew Aguecheek – tall & thin, public school educated knight (20s), weak & easily lead
- Feste doubling with Sebastian – Feste, a wandering fool & singer; Sebastian, the ship-wrecked brother of Viola
Viola, Olivia & Feste/Sebastian will need to present a short Shakespeare speech in verse; Feste will also need to sing (briefly) acapella, & all characters will be asked to read from the script
All those who take part MUST have strong, trained voices, as this is an open air production.
Audition date: April 10th, between 5.30 & 7.30 in Studio 3 at the Cockpit
